Baby Props & Stuff…

One place I love to visit online is This is a great place to find handmade items such as clothes and hats, props for baby photo shoots, and lots of cool items! One vendor a friend just told me about is LucyandEllen. This is a company that sells vintage home decor items and the pieces they have are beautiful! Here are a couple baby props that I found that I thought would be great for photos (these are NOT photos taken by Beauties & Babies):

Itty Bitty Couture is another fun shop I found sells handmade baby clothes, hats, etc. Cute stuff:

Baby hammocks, pods & cacoons are another photo prop that can be used in photographing newborn babies. I there are lots of people who sell these on etsy, but here is one seller who has beautiful work and designs. 4aSong Designs:

Darling Baby Hats

As bedrest continues, I have been searching the internet for darling baby hats and items that can be used as props. Today I found a company that has adorable baby hats: These are so precious, I ordered one to photograph my little one in! Here are a few images from the website and to see more of their work, you can also click here:  Additional Hats

32 weeks = BEDREST for me!!

I am sad to say that Beauties & Babies Photography is taking a break from shooting for a mandatory bedrest as issued by my doctor. I will not be taking jobs until after the baby arrives and will be taking a one month maternity leave, but I will start accepting bookings for the following month once she is born. I apologize to everyone who was booked for the coming weeks. I really was looking forward to the shoots I had lined up and hope to work together in the future. I am still going to post to my blog so tune in for new postings… I have a lot of down time to get creative! Here is my self portrait at 32 weeks… this is where I can be found! My toes are disappearing as the belly grows!!

Big Brother Noah, Little Brother Max!

A few months ago I photographed the newest member of the Katz family, baby Max. I was fortunate enough to photograph Noah when he was born and his mom’s maternity pics too! These images came out so sweet and this beautiful family has another adorable addition. Here are some highlights from our session:

Tutus, Lollipops, Ice Cream Cones and Dress-Up!

Last weekend I photographed two darling sisters Taylyn (3) and Jillian (1). These girls were full of energy and their parents had many creative ideas for the shoot. We took family portraits first and then came the tutus… with twirling and bubbles! Then came dress-up with princess costumes, crowns, jewels, hats, etc…. a little girls dream 🙂 Finally, we finished the day with their treats: lollipops and ice cream cones! All in all it was a fantastic shoot and I love the pictures. Here are my favorites from the day:

My Maternity Session!!

Since I was a little girl, my dad has always had a camera in hand. When I decided to do maternity pictures with my husband Justin, I figured who better to shoot them than the man who inspired me to pursue photography! We shot at a beach in Malibu and the day started out hazy and overcast, which gave us a cool airy effect. As the morning went on, the sun rolled in and we were able to get a bit of both. I learned a great deal about Maternity photography from this experience and I now fully understand how pregnant women feel getting their photo taken. All I can say is thank God for retouching!! All in all, I love the pictures and wanted to share them with you. It is a really special time in life and one that is definitely worth documenting as the time flies by really fast! Here are my favorite shots from the session:
